Kantar Media National TV Ratings (Aug. 18, 2013) - ‘Pepito Manaloto’ tops ratings

GMA-7’s Pepito Manaloto: Ang Tunay Na Kuwento topped last Sunday’s ratings based on the data by Kantar Media. The Michael V-starrer got 23.2% national rating, beating its rival show, ABS-CBN’s Goin’ Bulilit, which only got 20.7%.

It’s to be noted that the highest rating was only 23.2% and that the top program wasn’t from ABS-CBN. Two Sundays ago when ‘Labuyo’ hit the Philippines, the ratings was also ruled by Pepito Manaloto. And as ‘Maring’ hit Metro Manila and several other Luzon provinces this week, it was again GMA-7 that topped the ratings.

Kantar Media National TV Ratings (Aug 11)

GMA-7’s Pepito Manaloto: Ang Tunay Na Kuwento was the most-watched television program on Sunday, April 11, 2013, based on Kantar Media’s data.

Pepito Manaloto: Ang Tunay Na Kuwento

It’s the first time for the Michael V starred program to top the national ratings, and it could perhaps be attributed to the fact that Typhoon Labuyo hit a lot of provinces that time. ABS-CBN gets strong viewership from rural areas.

Pepito Manaloto comes back this Sunday (Teaser Video)

Pepito Manaloto: Ang Tunay Na Kuwento premieres this Sunday, September 16. It is the second season of the hit Pepito Manaloto but according to lead star Michael V himself, this will be a stand-alone show.

Pepito Manaloto: Ang Tunay Na Kuwento

He explained it by saying that when Pepito won the lottery, he and his family were asked by a network to do a television show, which was the one that was aired in its first season. The Manaloto family, however, didn’t like what went on the show and the network offered them again to do another show, this time a reality show wherein a camera will be following each member of the family.

Charice to Finally Do the GMA-7 Special

Charice is in the country to do the much talked-about special with GMA-7.

Late last year, news broke out that she has signed up to do a Christmas special with the Kapuso Network. It didn’t materialize, though, because Charice had been so busy doing Christmas shows in the US.
Charice was even bashed for not coming home to do the special, some even saying that she has already turned her back on her mother country.
Some, though, speculated that ABS-CBN (the network that discovered Charice, though didn’t give much importance to her talent until after she was recognized internationally) reprimanded the young singer to do shows in their rival network.
But all is well. Charice flew in this morning from Los Angeles to do the special. And who will she be working with? Tim Yap dropped a name by tweeting: "another thing to be excited abt is @officialCharice and @superElmo duet for Charice's GMA TV special.Gonna take a peak@ their rehearsals later!"
In a separate tweet, the Tweetbiz host also said: “she is going to sing Listen in her GMA TV special. With special guests Ogie, Michael V, Rachelle Ann and Elmo.”
So Charice will have a duet with Elmo Magalona and most likely also with Ogie Alcasid, Michael V, and  Rachelle Ann Go. Are you excited? Or are you excited?
